Living in New York City her entire life, Melanie Rodriguez had the advantage of experiencing a mixture of cultures all at once from the city streets around her. Growing up in lower Manhattan, where she went to Catholic school, she felt imprisoned by it’s structural system, and needed a change of environment. That is when she decided to go to Fashion Industries High School, where she learned to design, drape, and sew. It wasn’t until she made her first wedding dress at 16, when she realized her niche in life; to be a fashion designer.
Melanie’s outgoing and magnetic personality makes for an amazing designer. She makes it so that Milané Noir offers a distinct, edgy and conspicuous style package wrapped in one. Known for her attention to detail, Melanie continuously showcases feminine detailing in her designs. Not only is having a stylish brand important to Melanie, but at the same time she wants to make sure the quality of her brand is impeccable. She believes that looking good goes hand in hand with your emotions, and her designs corresponds with that. Milané Noir is Melanie’s interpretation of style and luxury.
